KOTA KINABALU: The Secretary of the Wiramuda StarSabah Exco, Jess Joel Moriga, should thoroughly study history before making any biassed remarks against the leaders of the Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sabah.
Sabah UMNO election director Jeffrey Nor Mohamed pointed out that BN leaders were actively involved in past administrations, including the current President of STAR Sabah, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan himself.
He emphasised that discussing past BN leaders is irrelevant, as almost 95 percent of them are now affiliated with other parties within Sabah.
Jeffrey Nor stated, “All political parties have valuable political ideologies; it’s crucial to acknowledge how leaders at that time guided the party towards the betterment of the people of Sabah.”
He questioned Jess Joel’s accusations, asking if he is targeting the current president and other leaders who were previously part of BN.
In response to Jess Joel’s recent comments, Jeffrey Nor highlighted that the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, played a significant role in securing additional rights for Sabah during his tenure, including the toll-free PAN BORNEO project.
He urged Jesus Joel to reconsider his stance, emphasising that the new leaders within BN Sabah are dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of the people of Sabah.
