Bung reprimands his deputy for extending an invitation to Hajiji to attend the Umno meeting

According to the FMT, Bung expressed his belief that it was unsuitable for Hajiji to be present at the meeting, as its purpose was to facilitate discussions on the party’s direction and strategy, led by party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Bung said that Zahid was forced to engage in doublespeak due to the presence of leaders from parties outside of Umno.

Bung clarified that he did not attend the event in Tuaran as he was not invited, but he did attend the Sepanggar Umno meeting later.

Zahid, the deputy prime minister, acknowledged that there were concerns about officiating the Tuaran Umno meeting with Hajiji present, but he decided to attend in the spirit of unity.

Bung hopes that such incidents will not happen again and emphasised the importance of making decisions with the president’s approval.

He also mentioned that while there are divisions within Sabah Umno, it is not a serious issue.
