KOTA KINABALU: The Form 5 Class of ‘70 of St. Michael Secondary School, Penampang, held their 4th reunion dinner at the Hibiscus Room, ITCC Penampang, on Sunday.
Some 60 people comprise the ex-students of St. Michael Penampang, their spouses, family members, as well as their friends and grandchildren.
Hosted by Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence B. Malakun, it was attended by the former students of St. Michael Secondary School, Penampang. Senator Datuk John Ambrose, Rev. Father Thomas Makajil, Francis Tokiu, Paulinus Mojiun, KK Zairus Bingkasan, Irene Jubily, and Josephine Majalang were among those who attended the reunion dinner.
Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence, in his welcoming speech, thanked all the ex-classmates and their respective spouses, as well as those who came to represent their loved ones who have passed on, who came to celebrate the reunion dinner together.
The memorable goodwill and fellowship dinner was held in conjunction with the Chap Goh Mei, which was celebrated a day earlier.
The night was filled with activities such as group photo taking, reunion cake cutting, karaoke, exchanging gifts and speeches, and sharing and reminiscing about the endearing and funny memories that they had growing up those years, one of which was shared by Emmanuel Tendahal about their journey to conquer Mount Kinabalu.
Rev. Father Thomas Makajil shared that the reunion is appropriate as “all of us are in our twilight years, and we should continue to knock on each other’s doors to maintain our friendship and connections.”.
