KOTA KINABALU: The Putatan District Education Office (PPD) needs to be established quickly due to the increase in the population to over 84,000 in this district.

In making the call, Putatan UMNO Division Chief Jeffrey Nor Mohamed stated that up until this point, all administrative affairs of PPD Putatan were under the jurisdiction of the Penampang district, with three secondary schools, eight primary schools, and two additional Special Needs Schools being listed.

He said that Putatan’s status as a full district proves that there is a need for the establishment of PPD to facilitate the coordination of all educational administration operations in this area.

“All this is seen as a solid foundation for the need for the Putatan district to have its own education office and no longer rely on the Penampang district.

“If approved, all these facilities will be fully enjoyed by teachers, education officers, parents, and all students in Putatan,” he said in a statement today.

Jeffrey Nor, who is also Sabah UMNO Elections Director, said that during the same period, all administrative activities, including development allocation requirements, will benefit all schools in the Putatan district.

“This matter needs to be realised in the near future. In addition, there are several other needs, especially to upgrade the existing primary and secondary schools due to the increase in population in the future.

“It is quite a shame when this need cannot be realised considering that Putatan is a’sub-urban’ with urgent needs that need to be established in the near future,” he explained.
