KOTA KINABALU: Sabah FC produced a spirited display to register a 2-1 win over Selangor in the Super League match at the Likas Stadium, near here tonight.
Playing before their own supporters, Sabah did not wait long to be in the driving seat through Saddil Ramdani’s penalty kick in the 24th minute.
However, the joy of the Sabah fans was shortlived when Selangor levelled the score through Faisal Halim in the 51st minute.
Captain Baddrol Bakhtiar’s free kick in the 64th minute ensured the victory for the homesters as well as collected three valuable points in the pulsating super league match.
Sabah FC, however, remained in third spot in the Super League standings with 20 points despite winning the match against Selangor.
Selangor is in second place with 22 points while Johor JDT surged ahead to top the Super League standings with 27 accumulated points after nine matches.
