SEMPORNA: Cooperation between Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) and UMNO in the upcoming Sabah elections is now almost certain to become a reality.
Warisan President Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal said he was willing to forget political rivalry in the past for the sake of unity, progress and political stability in Sabah.
He also confirmed receiving an invitation to work together from Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
“I am always open to work with this party (UMNO/BN).
“What is important is that this cooperation can be translated into something that can bring good to the development of the state of Sabah, as well as strengthen the country’s politics,” he said.
Mohd Shafie said this to reporters after delivering aid to 100 poor people and orphans here on Thursday.
The former Sabah Chief Minister also confirmed that he had held a meeting with the UMNO president, Bung and the President of the Social Democratic Prosperity Party (KDM) Datuk Peter Anthony to discuss and explore the possibility of forging an alliance to face-off with GRS in the upcoming Sabah state elections.
