It is reliably learnt that UPKO is almost certain to contest for the seats, said to be allocated to the party, namely Tuaran, Beluran, Libaran, Kimanis and Penampang.

UPKO is also eyeing for the opportunity to contest  in the Sepanggar parlimentary constituency but “this is subject to their negotiations with the other component parties in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition”.

A party source told Jesselton Times that former Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau would defend the Tuaran parlimentary seat while the party banks on its youth leader Felix Joseph Saang to deliver victory in the Beluran parlimentary seat.

UPKO Libaran division chief Dr Peter Jr Naintin
and UPKO Kota Kinabalu Division’s Women Chief Rowindy Lawrence will likely be fielded for the Libaran and Kimanis seats respectively.

Former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, UPKO deputy president Datuk Donald Mojuntin and its Penampang youth chief Billy joe Dominic are among the names put forward for consideration for the Penampang seat.

The PH coalition consists of the DAP, PKR, Amanah and UPKO.

All parties under the PH umbrella – PKR, DAP, Amanah and UPKO – will be using the coalition’s logo in the 15th general elections.
