Former Sabah footballer Henry Saimpon  among those conferred Datukship

KOTA KINABALU: Corporate figure in the oil and gas industry as well as technology, Datuk Abdul Farish Abd Rashid, leads the list of 1,026 recipients of medals and honors from Sabah in conjunction with the official 75th birthday celebration of the Governor of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman on Monday.

The Managing Director of FPSO Ventures Sdn Bhd (FVSB) is among three individuals awarded the highest honor in Sabah, the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), which confers the title of Datuk Seri Panglima.

The other two recipients are the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, and the Chief Justice, Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh.

Meanwhile, 79 individuals have been awarded the second highest honor in Sabah, the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which grants the title of Datuk.

Among the recipients are the Commander of the Eastern Fleet of the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), Vice Admiral Datuk Khir Junaidi Idris, and the Commander of the 5th Division of the Army, Brigadier General Datuk Shamshor Jaafar.

Other recipients include High Court Judge, Maslinda @ Linda Datuk Mohd Ainal; Director of the Sabah State Islamic Affairs Department (JHEAINS), Awang Juri Awang Tahir; and Chairperson of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd, Saadiah Aziz.

Also receiving the PGDK are the Director of the Sabah State Health Department (JKNS), Dr. William Gotulis; Chief Conservator of Forests in Sabah, Zulkifli Suara; and the General Manager of the PETRONAS Sabah and Labuan Regional Office, Siti Ayu Haniza Abdul Wahab.

In addition, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Sabah, Hassan Mahali; Director of the Cabinet and Policy Division of the Chief Minister’s Department of Sabah, Dayang Noorashikin Zulkefli; and Secretary of the Malaysian Police, DCP Datuk Abdul Rahman Kassim.

Meanwhile, the Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Sungai Manila, Hazem Mubarak Musa; the Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan, Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar; former ADUN Labuk, Abdul Rahman Kongkawang; the Head of the Beaufort PKR Branch, Dikin Musah; the Acting Youth Chief of the Sabah People’s Gagasan Party (Gagasan Rakyat), Azrul Ibrahim; and the Youth Chief of Gagasan Rakyat Sulaman, Ghazali Hajiji are among the political leaders who also received the PGDK.

Academics were not left out, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Prof Dr Rossita Shapawi, and Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences at UMS, Associate Prof Dr Lee Kuok Tiung.

Other recipients include former Sabah football player, Henry Saimpon, and the former Manager of Sabah FC, Md Joh Wid.

Additionally, a total of 117 individuals received the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK) medal, 192 received the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK), 260 received the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK), 249 received the Bintang Kinabalu (BK), while 113 received the Sijil Perkhidmatan Terpuji, and 13 individuals were awarded the Jaksa Pendamai.

Among the recipients of the Jaksa Pendamai are the Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Jauteh Dikun; the Deputy State Secretary of Sabah, Datuk Dr Ahemad Sade; Lawyer Datuk Ram Singh; and the Director of the Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM) Sabah, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang. –
