KOTA KINABALU: Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah is committed to advocating for the interests of the people, especially in the Sipitang constituency.
In this regard, he plans to address several public issues, including erosion and flooding that frequently occur in the low-lying areas of DUN Lumadan, Beaufort during the royal address debate in Parliament on Tuesday.
This includes a call for the government to intensify the implementation of the Flood Mitigation Project.
DUN Lumadan and DUN Sindumin are part of the Sipitang parliamentary area.
Meanwhile, the issue of cracks in Kg Tanjung Nipis in the Sipitang constituency has also caught Matbali’s attention, as he is currently in the capital for the Parliament session.
Following this, he has sent a representative, Parliament Liaison Officer Puan Queen Tuboh @ Pauzin, to investigate the crack complaints.
Puan Queen is accompanied by various government agencies, including the cement road concession (Kekal Mewah) and the Public Works Department during the visit.
According to initial reports, one of the causes of the cracks is river erosion since the affected road is near the river.
Matbali stated that his team will seek the best solutions to address the cracks in Kg Tanjung Nipis.
“As the MP for Sipitang, I will do my utmost to ‘help’ and resolve the people’s problems,” he said.
