KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Dusunik Language Preservation Association (KBDS) has outlined two significant activities this year to strengthen and promote the Dusunik language of Sabah.
KBDS President Datuk Lawrence Gimbang said there are the Dusunik language community project and the Karayahon Boros Dusunik (Pride of the Dusunik Language).
According to the plan, he said that one of the activities for the Dusunik language community project includes teaching and learning sessions for the Bundu language, which will be conducted at the Kg Lingkudou and Kg Kinorotuan kindergartens in Ranau.
Lawrence noted that a similar project will take place at the Kg Togudon kindergarten in Ranau, coordinated by Dr Linah Bagu @ Siti Nurlina Abdullah and Sitiamah Hj. Sahat.
The programme aims to teach and learn the Bundu and Liwan languages as community languages in the area for kindergarten children, he said.
“If everything goes smoothly, we plan to implement these programmes after March 2026,” he said.
Lawrence issued this statement after chairing a KBDS committee meeting here on Saturday.
