Lamag deserves more than promises – It deserves justice , dignity, and real development

By Mazliwati Abdul Malik, Candidate, Parti Warisan (WARISAN), N58 Lamag

Fellow voters of Lamag,

This by-election is not about slogans. It is not about who is close to power. It is about a simple and honest question:

After decades of UMNO rule, why is Lamag still left behind?

UMNO tells the people of Lamag that they are in government, and that only they can bring development.

But let us be truthful with one another.

UMNO was in power in Sabah for 24 long years. If power alone brings development, Lamag should already be thriving. Yet many villages still struggle with:

basic infrastructure,

economic opportunities,

land and livelihood security,

and a future for our children.

Being in government did not save Lamag then.

It will not save Lamag now.

DEVELOPMENT IS NOT A FAVOUR — IT IS A RIGHT

Development is not something to be begged for during elections. It is not a reward for loyalty. It is not a last-minute project announcement.

Development is a right of the people.

True development means:

secure land and livelihood,

fair opportunities for youth and women,

honest governance without corruption,

and leaders who fight consistently — not only during campaigns.

Warisan believes Lamag deserves long-term solutions, not short-term handouts.

OPPOSITION DOES NOT MEAN SILENCE — IT MEANS COURAGE

UMNO says Warisan is in the opposition and cannot deliver.

I say this clearly:

> An elected representative who dares to speak, question, and fight for the people is more valuable than one who stays silent in power.

Warisan has always stood firm on:

defending Sabah’s rights,

demanding fair revenue for our state,

resisting policies that marginalise Sabahans.

A representative’s duty is not to please those in power —

it is to defend the people who elected them.

LAMAG NEEDS A VOICE THAT STANDS FIRM

This by-election is not about government versus opposition. It is about who truly stands with Lamag.

I offer myself not as a politician seeking position, but as a Sabahan committed to:

listening to the people,

raising Lamag’s concerns without fear,

and working consistently for solutions — before and after elections.

A MESSAGE FROM THE HEART

To the voters of Lamag,

Do not vote out of fear. Do not vote out of habit. Do not vote because you are told you have no choice.

You do have a choice.

A vote for Warisan is a vote for:

dignity over dependence,

accountability over excuses,

and a future where Lamag is no longer forgotten.

Together, let us send a clear message:

Lamag will no longer accept neglect.

Lamag deserves better.
