KOTA KINABALU: Tulid Assemblyman Jordan Jude Ellron has made a history of sorts as one of the youngest assemblymen appointed as an assistant minister in the new Sabah state cabinet.
At 28 years old, Jordan holds a master’s degree in business and is among 17 assemblymen who took their oaths as assistant ministers in Sabah before the governor, Tun Musa Aman, at the Seri Kinabalu Palace on Tuesday.
The official ceremony marked the appointment of new Assistant Ministers from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), and Independent Assembly members.
“I am very touched by the appointment as Assistant Minister.
“This is a significant responsibility, and I thank the Chief Minister of Sabah for the trust and mandate given to me,” he said in his latest social media post.
Immediately after being announced as the winner of the PRN for the Tulid state constituency, Jordan began to showcase his leadership and credibility by expressing gratitude to all voters, campaign teams, and youth and women warriors for the mandate given to him.
“Being called YB is not something to be taken with ego. It is a proud moment, but it is just the beginning of fulfilling my duties and bringing development to N44 Tulid.
“Equally important is to strengthen the relationship between representatives and the villagers,” said the approachable Jordan, who is easy to connect with the people.
In the recent PRN, Jordan, who contested as an independent candidate, won after defeating 13 opponents.
In the contest for a seat with 16,551 registered voters, Jordan, using the mangosteen symbol, secured 3,545 votes, achieving a majority of 1,195 votes, making him one of the most prominent independent candidates in this election.
