Sabah BN commits to resolving issues of water, electricity, and roads within a single term

KOTA KINABALU:  Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) has launched the Sabah Development Plan One (RPS1) manifesto, which outlines six key pillars of development, with a primary commitment to address the issues of water, electricity, and road infrastructure within one term.

BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said that this manifesto represents a “true promise,” rather than just a political offer, even though BN acknowledges its position as the underdog in the 17th Sabah state election.

He said that RPS1 was completed a week prior to the candidate nomination but was launched later to allow the public to compare BN’s proposals with those of other parties.

Zahid also emphasised that BN Sabah and the state Umno have full autonomy to implement all these promises. He expressed confidence in the execution of the manifesto, bolstered by the commitment of the Sabah Umno Chief, Bung Moktar Radin, who remains dedicated to the people despite facing challenges.

BN has fielded 45 candidates, with 81 percent being new faces, nearly half of whom are professionals and youth.

Zahid further highlighted the resolution of basic infrastructure as a priority and pointed out that Sabah has received the highest allocation in the 2026 Budget.

The polling day for the Sabah state election is set for November 29, with early voting on November 25.
