Hajiji confident in forming a new government in Sabah

TUARAN: Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri  Hajiji Noor, expressed unwavering confidence that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) along with Pakatan Harapan (PH) will secure a strong mandate to form the government in the 17th Sabah State Election.

According to Hajiji, the outcome will evidently favor GRS and PH, and he believes this coalition will achieve a significant victory.

“I am confident that GRS and PH will successfully form the government after this election,” Hajiji stated with conviction when met after submitting his nomination papers at Dewan Seri Sulaman this morning.

Hajiji, who is also the President of the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Party (Gagasan Rakyat) and the incumbent for the Sulaman seat, arrived with great enthusiasm, accompanied by GRS leaders and thousands of supporters who showed strong backing.

Also present were the incumbent for the Pantai Dalit seat, Datuk Jasnih Daya, the incumbent for Kiulu, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, and the new candidate for the Tamparuli seat, Dr. Bonaventure Boniface.

For the Sulaman seat, Hajiji is set to face fierce competition from five other candidates.

Meanwhile, the contests in Pantai Dalit and Kiulu involve seven and eight contenders respectively, while the Tamparuli seat is expected to be one of the hottest, with 13 candidates vying for it.

Nevertheless, Hajiji remains optimistic. “I believe the GRS candidate in Sulaman will win by a larger majority,” he added, despite facing tough competition.

While reminding members of Gagasan Rakyat and GRS who are running as independent candidates, Hajiji stated that strict action will be taken against anyone making that decision.
