Bung Moktar calls on Sabah Youth to rise up for change

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah is showcasing numerous young candidates and fresh faces in this election as a bold step towards enacting change and ensuring that the voices of the youth are represented in the state’s political landscape.

Sabah BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, said that the party’s primary message to the youth is to encourage them to view Sabah’s future with optimism and to believe that change can be achieved through new leadership.

“My consistent message is for the youth to envision a better future for Sabah than today. Barisan Nasional, through our young candidates, is ready to transform the fortunes of the people of Sabah for the sake of the state,” he said.

Bung Moktar emphasised that BN is bold in presenting young candidates because they believe these individuals can bring fresh ideas and connect with the people through a more dynamic approach.

“This demonstrates that BN is willing to make changes. We are not risking the future of the youth with something they cannot accept. Even though they may lack experience, BN is ready to provide space and opportunities because we want change,” he added.

He noted that the party is offering a platform for young candidates not just to compete but also to play a role as policymakers who will determine the direction of the state’s development.

“We provide them with opportunities and a platform to contest. After that, they can serve as representatives to create policies, particularly in shaping the focus of the state’s development,” he explained.

Yesterday, BN introduced 80 per cent new candidates in the 17th Sabah PRN as the party’s commitment to bringing more progressive and responsive reforms to the state.
