KOTA KINABALU – Former DAP Sabah Chairman, Datuk Frankie Poon, is expected to make a surprise move by joining the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) in Sandakan tomorrow.
The event is scheduled to take place at the SMJK Tiong Hua Multipurpose Hall.
His participation is said to not be solitary, as former DAP Sabah Secretary, Liau Fui Fui, is also anticipated to join in this latest political manoeuvre.
KDM Secretary-General Willie Jude Junaidi, when contacted, said that an official confirmation will only be made during the event.
“We will all wait for tomorrow… during the event at the SMJK Tiong Hua Multipurpose Hall, Sandakan,” he said.
Previously, Frankie and Liau surprised many when they announced their departure from DAP Sabah, believed to be due to dissatisfaction with the current party leadership.
Their move has once again sparked new speculation regarding the political direction of the Sabah opposition bloc, with many netizens on social media beginning to discuss the possibility of a “new wave” of local politics emerging.
