Ewon “bids farewell” a week prior to the nomination day for the Sabah PRN

KUALA LUMPUR: The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Datuk Ewon Benedick, has raised questions about his position in the Cabinet after attending a farewell event organized by his ministry’s staff in Putrajaya on Friday night.

According to a report by Berita Harian, Ewon also announced that he will begin his leave from November 11 to 29, but “did not mention anything about resigning from his position”.

During a meeting with KUSKOP staff and agencies in Temerloh last week, he was quoted as saying, ‘This may be my last speech as Minister of KUSKOP, and I thank everyone who has served in the ministry.’

‘I am very sure I will return to serve in Sabah. If you see me anywhere, feel free to greet me.’

Previously, Ewon was reported to have stated that he is willing to resign from his ministerial position if the Federal Government files an appeal against the Kota Kinabalu High Court’s decision, which affirmed Sabah’s constitutional right to receive 40 percent of federal revenue collected from the state.
