KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, the Treasurer of Sabah UMNO, expressed that excessive criticism directed at Sabah UMNO by certain leaders could have negative repercussions and backfire.
He emphasized that politics driven by hatred does not benefit anyone.
“Politics ought to revolve around ideas rather than insults — it should be about construction, not destruction of others.
“We must engage in competition based on genuine issues, effective policies, and our history of service. Let the public determine who has truly worked for their benefit,” he stated in his most recent Facebook update.
The former Chief Minister mentioned that Sabah UMNO advocates for positive politics — valuing diverse opinions while prioritizing development, stability, and the welfare of the people.
He insisted that Sabah requires leaders who unite people rather than create divisions; who inspire hope instead of spreading hatred.
“Let us transcend hate and concentrate on progress. UMNO Sabah will persist in serving with integrity and respect.
“Ultimately, genuine effort and sincerity will always resonate more than any form of attack,” he concluded.
