KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN) has reaffirmed its commitment to continue backing the Federal Government to ensure that the interests of the people of Sabah are not neglected in the current political landscape.
Its president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, stated that this position clearly demonstrates that WARISAN prioritises national development efforts over political rhetoric that does not benefit the people.
He said that Sabah still requires serious attention from the central government, especially regarding economic development, infrastructure provision, and the rightful return of the people’s rights.
“We consistently support efforts to develop the country, particularly in ensuring the rights and economic progress of the people of Sabah,” he said during a programme in Limbawang, Beaufort, on Saturday.
Shafie emphasised that WARISAN has never compromised when it comes to the voices of the people of Sabah and will continue to advocate for long-overdue demands, such as equitable development allocations.
He further explained that this support is also crucial for ensuring political stability in the country, thereby preventing disruptions to policies and the implementation of development projects in the state.
“This is not the time for political games. What matters is the future of the people of Sabah. Politics may differ, but the rights of the people should never be at stake,” he asserted.
He stressed that any form of political collaboration undertaken aims to ensure that Sabah continues to progress and that the people receive the benefits they deserve from the central government.
