KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO/Barisan Nasional (BN) has made it clear that there is no form of collaboration, whether official or unofficial, with the Warisan Party in the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN).
The Information Chief of Sabah UMNO, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir, said that UMNO is not playing both sides but is committed to a clear, principled political path based on the party’s struggle.
“Any speculation linking UMNO or BN Sabah with Warisan is false and intended to confuse the public. UMNO is not hiding behind any hidden agendas,” he stated in a press release.
He also reminded that the public still remembers how the Warisan President was nurtured within UMNO, trusted to rise to the level of Vice President, yet ultimately chose to leave the party that built his political career.
“Now, the Warisan President is merely a shadow of a leader who has lost direction and influence. Politics without loyalty is not a struggle, but a personal journey without purpose,” he added.
Meanwhile, he stressed that the main focus of Sabsh UMNO/BN is to rebuild public confidence through political stability, strengthen national unity, and continue realistic and inclusive development policies for a better future for Sabah.
The Election Commission (EC) has set November 29, 2025, as the date for PRN17 in Sabah.
The nomination day is set for November 15, while early voting will take place on November 25, 2025.
