Salleh hails a landmark High Court ruling for Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has described the High Court ruling that upholds Sabah’s constitutional entitlement to 40% of federal revenue under Articles 112C and 112D of the Federal Constitution as a momentous occasion.

Expressing gratitude to the Sabah Law Society (SLS) for their commendable efforts, he stated that this is a crucial moment — not only for the legal community but for every Sabahan who values fairness, partnership, and adherence to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“The ruling reinforces that Sabah’s rights are not just promises but constitutional assurances.

“These rights must be respected through good faith, transparency, and cooperation between the federal and state governments,” he remarked in his recent Facebook update.

Salleh expressed his hope that as we progress, this ruling will usher in a new era of mutual respect and constructive dialogue between Sabah and Putrajaya — inspired by the same spirit of unity that formed our Federation.

“This transcends a mere court decision — it serves as a reminder that justice and fairness should always be the cornerstone of our nation,” he concluded.
