KOTA KINABALU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah has expressed its full readiness to face the 17th State Election (PRN17) following the announcement of the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) today.
Sabah BN Information Chief, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir, said that this dissolution provides an opportunity for the people of Sabah to redefine their future and direction through the democratic process.
“BN Sabah enters the PRN17 arena this time with confidence, experience, and a strong commitment.
“Stability is not just a slogan, but a fundamental principle to ensure that the state’s development can continue in an orderly and sustainable manner,” he said in a statement today.
Suhaimi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Libaran, emphasised that the people need a government that remains calm during crises, is firm when tested, and consistently works for the interests of the people, not political interests.
He noted that the BN machinery in all areas is fully prepared with refined communication strategies, strengthened grassroots data, and effectively raised issues concerning the people.
Suhaimi also highlighted three priorities for BN Sabah in this election, which include;
• Restoring stability and confidence in the state administration.
• Strengthening the Federal-State relationship to ensure Sabah’s voice is respected.
• Generating economic opportunities for the people through rural development, job creation, and basic infrastructure.
“BN is not a party that only appears during elections.
“Historically, BN has laid the foundation for Sabah’s progress from schools and village roads to universities and ports.
“Now, after a period of uncertainty, BN Sabah is determined to restore confidence and redirect the state’s development,” he said.
He added that BN does not promise the moon and stars, but offers stability, hard work, and experienced leadership that understands the pulse of the people.
“This is the time for Sabah to rise again with leadership that knows what needs to be done and has the sincerity to execute it,” he added.
