KOTA KINABALU: The date and time for the press conference regarding the dissolution of the Sabah State Assembly (DUN) will be announced in due course.
According to a statement from the Media and Communication Office of the Chief Minister’s Department today, the official announcement will be made by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
“In light of numerous enquiries from the media regarding the date of the dissolution of the Sabah State Assembly, we are pleased to inform you that the invitation for the press conference concerning the dissolution of the Sabah DUN by YAB Chief Minister will be communicated through a Note to Editor (NTE) when the time is right.
“We greatly appreciate your cooperation,” the statement read here on Friday.
The statement from the Media and Communication Office of JKM clarified that there will be no dissolution of the DUN today and possibly throughout this week.
Speculation about the dissolution of the DUN arose after Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was reported to have met with the Governor of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, at the Seri Kinabalu Palace late yesterday afternoon.
This meeting is seen as a sign regarding the dissolution of the DUN, given that the current term of the DUN is nearing its end.
