KOTA KINABALU – Datuk Seri Kadzim M. Yahya has been reappointed as the Speaker of the Sabah Legislative Assembly (DUN) after receiving his appointment letter from the Sabah Head of State, Tun Musa Aman, at the Istana Seri Kinabalu today.

This appointment further solidifies Kadzim’s position as the leader of the Sabah Legislative Assembly, which plays a crucial role in ensuring that the assembly meetings proceed smoothly and adhere to the rules and regulations.

After taking his oath in front of Tun Musa, he signed the official appointment documents witnessed by the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, Datuk Azizah Nawawi. 

This process marks the official acceptance of his duties and responsibilities as Speaker for the upcoming term.

The formal ceremony was also attended by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, along with the state cabinet ministers and assistant ministers.

The presence of the state’s top leadership demonstrates support and respect for the role of the Speaker’s institution within the democratic system of Sabah.
