PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) reiterates its stance of being ready to cooperate with any party in facing PRN17, except for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
A report by Bernama quoted its Chairman Zahid Hamidi as stating that this collaborative approach aligns with BN’s principles to avoid overlapping constituencies that could potentially be won, particularly through alliances with political partners such as Pakatan Harapan (PH) and other like-minded entities.
“BN-PH ‘plus’ ‘plus’ ‘plus’ signifies our readiness to join forces with any party that agrees with our party’s principles to prevent overlaps in areas with winning potential.
“As for GRS, we have finalized our decision (not to collaborate) because they are confident in their ability to win many seats, thus they do not require BN,” he said after the launch of IkonDesa here today.
The Sabah State Assembly will automatically dissolve on November 11 to pave the way for PRN17.
Previously, Zahid, who is also the president of Umno, was reported stating that BN will not field candidates in all 73 DUN seats, but has identified a number of constituencies deemed suitable for contesting.
