Sabah BN Remains Committed to Advocating Basic Infrastructure Issues, Translating the People’s Mandate into Immediate Action

LAHAD DATU: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) reaffirms its ongoing commitment to prioritise basic infrastructure issues as a key agenda, particularly in rural areas that have long faced problems with damaged and unsafe roads.

According to the Chairman of the Disaster Monitoring and Special Needs Committee of BN Lahad Datu and the Chief Information Officer of BN Comms DUN Segama, Hamzani Ariffin, only a government that genuinely cares for the people’s welfare can translate the mandate given into real actions, rather than mere words or empty promises.

“BN Sabah consistently prioritises basic infrastructure issues in its struggle. What matters is that the people’s mandate will be translated into immediate action, not just sweet words and promises,” he stated.

He made these comments while addressing the issue of severely damaged main roads in Kampung Segama Lama Batu 8, which have yet to receive concrete solutions despite being raised by local residents for a long time.

He added that BN is committed to advocating for the construction of permanent concrete roads in the area as a long-term solution, replacing the outdated practice of patching holes that do not last.

Hamzani also described the current government’s failure, particularly under the administration of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), as evidence of weaknesses in planning and executing rural infrastructure projects, including in the Tungku area, which has faced similar issues.

“The people should not continue to be victims of administrative weaknesses. BN promises to prioritise the basic needs of the people if given the mandate again,” he asserted.

BN Sabah is now stepping forward to voice the concerns of rural citizens with renewed determination, making the development of basic infrastructure such as roads a central pillar in efforts to restore confidence and enhance the well-being of the people. –
