KOTA BELUD: The Democratic Society Welfare Party (KDM) aims to lead the effort to elevate the town of Taginambur in Kadamaian to a sub-district, if given the mandate in the upcoming state election (PRN).
Kadamaian state constituency’s prospective KDM candidate, Josely Taising, said the town of Taginambur has great potential to be proposed as the administrative centre for the Kadamaian sub-district office.
“The town of Taginambur is not only strategically located, being only 16 kilometers from the town of Kota Belud, but also meets several important criteria such as population growth, rapid development of the economic sector – particularly eco-tourism – and increasing needs for infrastructure facilities and public services.
“If the Tuaran district can have two sub-districts, namely Tamparuli (9 km from Tuaran town) and Kiulu (20 km from Tuaran), then there is no reason why Kadamaian cannot be considered for upgrading. Kadamaian deserves equal recognition for the progress of its society,” he said in a social media post.
According to Josely, the effort to make Kadamaian a small district will bring various welfare and development benefits to the residents, including:
1. Improved government services:
Making it easier for residents to obtain official administrative and management services without having to go to Kota Belud.
Accelerating the process of issuing official documents, land matters, business licenses, and welfare assistance.
2. Local economic development:
Attracting new investments, particularly in the eco-tourism sector, modern agriculture, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Making Taginambur a new economic hub capable of generating more job opportunities for youth.
3. Better infrastructure and public amenities:
Increasing the priority in the allocation of resources for road development, electricity supply, clean water, and internet access.
Enabling more schools, health clinics, and community facilities to be built or improved.
4. Increased social welfare and well-being:
Providing faster access to welfare, health, education, and social security assistance.
Empowering rural communities so they are not left behind in the state’s development.
5. Safety and disaster management:
The establishment of small districts will facilitate the coordination of security forces and natural disaster management such as floods and landslides.
Improving emergency preparedness with the presence of administrative and logistics centers closer by.
Josely emphasised that this proposal is part of KDM’s reform agenda to ensure Kadamaian is not only known as a beautiful eco-tourism area, but also as a progressive, prosperous, and sustainable community center.
“KDM is committed to bringing the voice of the people of Kadamaian so that they receive fair development rights.
“With its status as a sub district, Kadamaian will be more secure in terms of welfare, economy, and the future of its young generation,” he explained.
