PITAS: It is time for Bengkoka, located in northern Sabah, to create a community cultural centre to showcase its unique culture, which will also help boost the tourism industry in the area.
The Chief Coordinator of the Community Democratic Welfare Party (KDM) Bengkoka, Gundohing Richard Mazagi, stated that diversifying tourism products is timely and should be supported by everyone.
“Bengkoka is situated far in the north of Sabah, and KDM believes that new tourism products need to be explored to attract more visitors to this area, thereby enhancing the local economy.
“This is one of the initiatives I will introduce if given the mandate in the upcoming state election,” he said.
Richard said this in his remarks at a tour programme in PDM Mongkubou recently.
Additionally, he mentioned that KDM Bengkoka hopes to promote a structured housing agenda in the constituency in the future.
Richard emphasised the importance of advocating for farmers, fishermen, and youth in the community.
He stated that KDM is committed to championing the welfare of the people of Sabah, including those in Bengkoka, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion.
In this regard, Richard urged the residents of Bengkoka to rise and give strong support to KDM – the original Sabahan party – in the upcoming state election.
