Give GRS a chance to continue governing Sabah – Dr. Joachim

KALABAKAN: The Acting President of the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, urges the people of Sabah to allow the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to continue leading the state for the next five years.

He stated that a new mandate is crucial to ensure that the development agenda initiated over the past five years can be carried out more smoothly and provide ongoing benefits to the people.

“Give GRS the opportunity to govern for another five years. There are still many things to accomplish. With a victory, it will facilitate the Government in delivering continuous development in this area and throughout Sabah,” he said during the opening of the PBS Sebatik Annual General Meeting at the Kalabakan Multipurpose Hall today.

In his speech before more than 300 members and observers, he emphasized that PBS, as an essential component of GRS, continues to receive support from the people across the state, including in the Sebatik state constituency (DUN) area.

He noted that political stability is the key for Sabah to continue enjoying balanced development alongside the states in Peninsular Malaysia.

“We will continue this struggle until we achieve comfort, which means demanding the rights of the people of Sabah, and ensuring equitable, proportional, and balanced development,” he asserted.

Dr. Joachim, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister II and Minister of Local Government and Housing, reminded all PBS Sebatik members to remain united and fully support the candidates that will be presented in the upcoming State Election (PRN).

“Let us face the PRN with calm hearts. Do not worry. Together with other GRS components, we will unite to form the government again,” he said.
