What happened to the Putatan district mini stadium? – Jeffery Nor

KOTA KINABALU: Jeffery Nor Mohamed, the Putatan UMNO Chief, has called on the authorities to expedite the completion of the mini stadium project in the Putatan district, situated on the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu city.

He expressed his concerns as there have been no indications that the project will be finished within the designated timeframe.

He noted that the project has faced significant delays, despite its relaunch on July 26, 2023.

Jeffery, who is also the Sabah UMNO Election Director said the project, which cost RM7.89 million, was supposed to be completed in early January this year.

“Therefore, the priority to complete this project is highly anticipated as soon as possible because it has become one of the main needs for the youth and residents of Putatan in particular,” he said in a statement today.

In this regard, he requested the relevant parties to take full responsibility for resolving the issue thoroughly, and if there is a breach of contract, it must be addressed immediately.

“If there are any leaks in this project, I request that appropriate action be taken so that it serves as a signal to any other contractors that their responsibilities must be fulfilled to the best of their ability according to the contract agreement,” he said.

Jeffery also requested that the Putatan District Council and the district office

appointed as the direct monitor of the project’s development, so that engagement in the governance of projects in the Putatan district can be resolved within the stipulated timeframe.

In this regard, he said local leaders need to be more proactive in exerting the necessary pressure to ensure that responsible parties can carry out their tasks, specifically in the development of the Putatan District mini stadium.
