Time to establish an elite school in Keningau, says Peter Paun

KENINGAU: Former principal, senior officer of the Sabah Education Department, and outstanding officer Gundohing Peter Paun believes it is time to create an elite school in the Keningau area.

He stated that Keningau is the largest town in the interior region and is rapidly developing.

“Therefore, there is a need to build an elite school to accommodate intelligent, bright, and selected students in an elite environment.

“With the establishment of this elite school, they will not have to leave Keningau, and all the best students from the interior can be gathered in the Keningau district,” he mentioned in a recent social media post.

Peter, who is also a prospective candidate for KDM in Liawan, made these remarks after participating in a grassroots programme visiting several villages in the Liawan constituency, including the Keningau central market.

“Thus, this is what needs to be implemented in the Keningau area, alongside various other development agendas, if given the opportunity to become the representative for the Liawan state constituency,” he added.

‘Elite schools’ refers to institutions known for their excellence in academics and extracurricular activities, often associated with better facilities and more comprehensive programmes.

This term can also refer to fully residential schools (SBP) or cluster schools of excellence
