KOTA BELUD: UMNO Kota Belud should capitalize on the time left before the Sabah State Election (PRN) to bolster public backing and safeguard Kota Belud as the party’s bastion, said Usukan State Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
He made these remarks while inaugurating the Kota Belud UMNO Three Wings Assembly, which united UMNO’s Women, Youth, and Puteri wings in a single venue.
“The Sabah State Election can be held at any time. Don’t wait for new instructions to move. Engage with the people, reach out to target groups, and ensure they understand what UMNO is offering for Sabah’s future,” he said.
According to Salleh, UMNO Kota Belud has a strong foundation, with active branches across the division and the achievement of retaining two state seats in the 15th General Election (GE15). He stressed that UMNO’s strength does not rely solely on funding, but on the spirit, hard work, and teamwork of all members.
The event also highlighted the role of each wing – Women as the backbone of the party, Youth as the front line in engaging young voters, and Puteri as the fresh face carrying optimism and hope for the next generation.
Salleh reminded all party machinery to use social media positively to spread the party’s achievements and messages, but to keep the main focus on the ground to ensure all target groups remain with UMNO.
“With unity, a focus on the ground, and teamwork, God willing, Kota Belud will continue to remain UMNO’s stronghold in the upcoming state election,” he concluded.
