Phase II of the new commercial town for Tongod is coming soon—Masiung

TONGOD: Another Commercial Project of the Phase II Shop Development Six units will be set up in the new town of Tongod starting this year.

Housing and Urban Development Authority (LPPB) chairman Datuk Masiung Banah said the construction of the new store was worth nearly RM4 million following the construction of the first six units of the shop last year.

“The Tongod New Town Project is one of the Sabah Maju Jaya Commercial (SMJ) commercial inspections inspired by the Sabah State Government,” he said at a press conference shortly after the project breaking ceremony yesterday.

The Kuamut People’s Representative said the first phase of construction work has been running 50 percent and is expected to be completed before mid-next year.

Masiung said the two commercial projects were implemented by the LPPB, and six units of the first phase of the store had been sold.

Meanwhile, LPPB also plans to set up 50 units of two-story terraced houses.

Under the Low Cost Public House (PAKR) program near Tongod town.

This low-cost affordable housing is an attempt to help the Tongod population among the B40 groups.

The development of the affordable housing will be scheduled to start early next year; however, the application to buy the house can be submitted online.

One unit of the house is priced at RM47,000.

The commercial and housing project is a program that is integrated with SMJ’s direction.

LPPB General Manager Datuk Rosemary Ahping and Tongod District Officer Mohd. Yuseri Yusof were also present at the groundbreaking ceremony.
