GRS rejects the Sarawak formula, chooses to cooperate with PH for political stability—Salleh

KOTA KINABALU: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) demonstrated that the best course of action for political stability is to form a coalition with the national party by deciding to work with Pakatan Harapan (PH).

As a result, GRS’ choice to partner with PH in the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN) should be respected, according to Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Treasurer Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak.

“They have ultimately rejected going solo and opted to align with national parties. Undoubtedly, they have their own reasons, and the people will be the judge.

“GRS has also rejected the Sarawak formula of distancing from national parties. Instead, they have chosen to cooperate with national parties. We in Barisan Nasional (BN) have been consistent on this matter,” he said in his latest Facebook post.

Salleh explained that GRS might have selected PH in order to establish close ties with the federal government and collaborate with the Prime Minister’s party.

“This aligns with the need to ensure political stability and continued development for Sabah,” he stated.

According to Salleh, the BN decided early on to collaborate with PH because both are the cornerstones of the federal Unity Government.

“This collaboration is a sensible and accountable extension of that alliance.

“How PH manages its cooperation with both BN and GRS is not our concern. What matters to us in BN is sincerity in partnership, and our focus remains on strengthening our party on the ground,” he said.

The Usukan assemblyman said BN wants to win and help coalition partners.

“We do not play a double game. Our approach is clear—honest, transparent, and always for the good of the people of Sabah.
