PAPAR – Over 1,000 residents in Mukim Kaiduan have benefited from development through the implementation of 16 projects under the Kampung Angkat Madani program organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
These projects include the construction of low-level crossings (LLC), repairs to drainage systems, upgrades to village roads, the building of a new suspension bridge to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kaiduan, enhancements to places of worship, and the installation of solar lights in the village area.
KPDN Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali stated that all these projects have been fully completed and handed over to the residents of Mukim Kaiduan.
Armizan made these remarks when he met reporters in Kampung Kaiduan, Papar.
“The Kampung Angkat Madani program is a new initiative by the Federal Government, proposed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and launched in 2024 with the aim of bridging the development gap between urban and rural areas in a targeted manner.
“This project commenced last year with the selection of 43 villages and a budget allocation of RM107 million. The implementation mechanism began when each member of the Cabinet was required to select one village to be included in the Kampung Angkat Madani program.
“As the minister at KPDN, I have discussed with the management selecting areas involving several villages. The criteria were villages whose infrastructure status is still below 50 percent,” he told reporters after the handover of the Kampung Angkat Madani Project in Kampung Kaiduan on Saturday.
He also informed that discussions regarding the selection of Mukim Kaiduan involved the Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Limbahau, Datuk Juil Nuatim, who supported its implementation in the area.
