KDM wants the state government to construct a ‘footbridge’ in Inanam town – George Guntarik

KOTA KINABALU: The Democratic People’s Welfare Party (KDM) for the Inanam state constituency has proposed that the state government build a ‘footbridge’ connecting the Taipan Inanam shop houses, the old Inanam town, and the CIMB Bank Inanam.

KDM Inanam Coordinator Datuk George Guntarik stated that the establishment of this footbridge is expected to not only facilitate public access to the three shopping block areas but also alleviate traffic congestion in Inanam town.

He added that the footbridge is hoped to stimulate and enhance business activities in the area.

“I have had the opportunity to hear the complaints of the traders there and also from several Chinese community leaders in Inanam, and one of their appeals is for the government to build a footbridge that is anticipated to nurture a better business climate.

“In this regard, as the KDM coordinator, I am determined to fight for and realise the aspirations of the voters in the Inanam constituency,” he said in a statement here today.

George explained that the proposal to build a footbridge in Inanam town is part of KDM’s planning agenda for the Inanam constituency, which he believes should be prioritised.

He also voiced the request of the Inanam residents for the security authorities to station police officers at the Inanam roundabout during peak school hours, namely in the morning, noon, and afternoon, to address traffic congestion.

“KDM Inanam hopes that this matter will receive the necessary attention for the common good,” he said.
