BN open to collaboration with other parties – Zahid

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) continues to adopt an open approach to collaborating with other parties for the upcoming Sabah State Election (PRN), stated BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He mentioned that the party consistently holds meetings with all parties because the coalition believes in openness in politics.

“We hope all discussions will be positive. There should be no doors that are opened too wide and no doors that are closed too tightly. This means that the space for negotiation and visits is always available,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid made these remarks to reporters after launching the Sabah Women’s Empowerment Program at the Sabah International Convention Centre here on Tuesday.

He noted that BN will contest using the scales logo in the upcoming PRN.

“BN will contest under the scales symbol, but we do not reject collaboration with other party coalitions,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid added that detailed discussions cannot yet take place as the Sabah State Assembly (DUN) has not been dissolved, but meetings and negotiations will be conducted more intensively when the time comes.
