SANDAKAN: The distribution of seats between the component parties of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are still under discussion and have not been decided by the party leadership.
Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) vice president Datuk Masiung Banah said so far some of the GRS components had not submitted a list of candidates.
“However, the matter will be detailed at the GRS and PH Presidential Council meetings in the near future,” he told the media after opening the annual general assembly of the Gum-Gum Gagasan Rakyat on Monday.
“I am not directly involved in the GRS meetings, but usually the President of the Gagasan Rakyat and the chairman of the GRS will be aware.Â
“The distribution of seats between GRS and PH has not yet been finalised despite the discussion.
“The GRS, who are in line with the Gagasan Rakuat, must contest at least 53 seats, and the remaining 20 seats will be contested by PH,” he said.Â
However, according to Masiung, all members of the party and grassroots party should respect the decision of the President’s Council, as it is an entity in the GRS.
Masiung said the people’s sentiment today is more to the local party, but cooperation with PH should be prioritised as it is under the Prime Minister.
More than 1,000 delegates and observers of the people’s ideas were present at the leader under the leader of his deputy chief, Datuk Juslie Ajirol, and his deputy, Datuk Jaffari Waliam.
