Campaign well, do not use  insult – Former Sabah CM

KOTA KINABALU: The former Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has urged an end to insults and to focus on ideas as the 17th Sabah state election approaches.

“Let’s compete with ideas, not insults. Politics should not be about attacking individuals — it’s about providing solutions,” he mentioned in his recent Facebook update.

Salleh emphasised that there is no need to undermine others to shine.

“What counts is who presents better ideas, clearer strategies, and a history of serving the community,” he remarked.

The Usukan assemblyman pointed out that personal attacks and emotional arguments are unhelpful.

He stated that they only create division and distract from important issues.

“I advocate for a more mature form of politics — one that is respectful, focused, and forward-thinking.

“We might have differing opinions, but if we maintain professionalism and sincerity, we can still aim for the same objective: a brighter future for our state and nation,” he added.
