Do not overlook the connection with the grassroots – Always listen to the grievances, complaints, and hopes of the people – Dr Victor

KENINGAU: Party leaders at all levels, including the three wings of the party—women, youth, and young women of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) here, must consistently listen to the grievances, complaints, and hopes of the people.

Tambunan Gagasan Rakyat Chief Dato’ Dr Victor Peter Paut, stated that only by understanding the pulse of the people can effective strategies and actions be organised, especially in preparation for the upcoming 17th State Election.

“As we move forward, the relationship with the grassroots must never be neglected,” he said during his speech at the opening of the Annual Conference of the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Bingkor Division for the year 2025 here on Sunday.

The conference was also attended by the Head of Gagasan Rakyat Bingkor, Datuk Jasri Matjakir, along with the committee members of the division, and representatives from the women, youth, and young women movements.

Dr Victor urged the leaders and members of the Bingkor division to prepare from now on, not only in terms of logistics or machinery but also in unity and the spirit of struggle.

“We must ensure that the people see Gagasan Rakyat and the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as a stable, united choice capable of bringing continuous progress,” he added.

In this context, he invited leaders and party members to strengthen their relationships and collaborate with component parties within the GRS.

Dr Victor also urged the members of Gagasan Rakyat Bingkor to continue providing unwavering trust and support to the Party President and Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, in realising the development agenda of Sabah Maju Jaya.

“As loyal members of the party, it is our collective responsibility to continue giving strong support to the Chief Minister,” he stated.
