TAMBUNAN: The Tambunan Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) unanimously supports the motion for its Division Chief, Dato’ Dr Victor P. Paut, to be nominated for the Tambunan state seat in the upcoming state election (PRN).
The proposal was unanimously agreed upon by the delegates at the 3rd Annual Conference of Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan, held at Pisompuruan Square, Tambunan, on Sunday.
Approximately 3,000 party members, including delegates and observers from 86 branches, attended the conference, firmly expressing their agreement with the proposal put forth by the Deputy Chief of Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan, Mohd Yassin Mohd Yunus.
Mohd Yassin stated that the proposal to nominate Dr Victor as a candidate representing the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for Tambunan in PRN-17 is based on the strength of the party’s machinery, which currently boasts 16,000 members and has successfully established 86 branches.
“This figure clearly demonstrates and proves that the trust of the people in Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan, led by Dr Victor, is growing stronger and cannot be denied,” he said.
“Over the past three years, Dr Victor has never ceased to engage with the people.
“He is not a leader who only appears during elections but continues to serve, live, and breathe with the people, fighting alongside them! The programmes and contributions he has made are not mere rhetoric. This is his commitment.
“Based on the strength of the party’s machinery and his commitment, Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan proposes to the party leadership that our Division Chief, Dato Dr Victor P. Paut, be elevated as the GRS candidate in this year’s PRN,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Information Chief of Gagasan Rakyat Tambunan, Rahim Yasin, stated that the proposal to nominate Dr Victor aligns with the strong support received from the people of Tambunan.
