Sabah UMNO to bank on ‘Radu Tatap Radu’ initiative ahead of PRN

KOTA KINABALU: With the state election (PRN) approaching, Sabah UMNO is adjusting its election strategy, introducing the latest initiative, Radu Tatap Radu.

Sabah UMNO treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak asserted that Radu Tatap Radu is an initiative by Sabah UMNO now reaching every operational area.

He said the initiative is chaired by Datuk Yakub Khan and under the patronage of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

“This programme reflects a deep awareness that unity and a sense of responsibility must remain at the heart of our efforts.

“It’s more than just a gathering or routine program,” he said in his latest Facebook post.

Salleh, who is the Usukan assemblyman, said Radu Tatap Radu is a platform to reconnect with loyal members, reach out to supporters who have grown silent, and create space for young people to be part of something greater than politics alone.

“This year is a defining moment. Not because of any struggle for power, but because we recognise that responsibility calls for the courage to step up and serve.

“We do not want to remain passive observers — we want to contribute, sincerely and consciously,“ he added.

Salleh said UMNO’s approach is not about creating enemies or provoking tension but to listen and to explain.

“We believe people value honesty over rhetoric. We don’t attack anyone personally — we simply invite fair and open comparison of ideas and track records,“ he added.

Salleh said voters in Sabah are wise and not easily swayed by empty promises.

“They judge with heart and reason. We don’t need to promise the moon and stars — it’s enough to prove ourselves through what we’ve done, what we’re doing, and what we’re committed to doing,“ he said.

Salleh said Sabah UMNO brings a moderate and realistic approach.

“We know we are not perfect, but we are willing to learn, to improve, and to continue striving — for a more united and prosperous Sabah. Radu Tatap Radu until we win,“ he added.
