KOTA KINABALU: The most dangerous individuals in the realm of politics are those who believe their actions are justified by their intended outcomes.
For decades, the people of Sabah have been exploited by certain groups and individuals, significantly contributing to our current state of defeat, disillusionment, and an ongoing cycle of poverty.
If Unity had a physical form, it might appear fragile, held together with tape and thin paper. We often fall prey to misleading narratives and tempting promises, driven by our desire to improve our lives and secure a better future for ourselves.
In the 2020 Sabah State election, a hidden force played a significant role in the downfall of the democratically elected government, resulting in the unholy alliance we see today.
Our essential needs—such as water, electricity, and roads—have been neglected, delayed, and postponed.
In recent years, the current government has faced numerous allegations of corruption, betraying the trust of the people of Sabah.
On the national level, we were led to believe that the fight against corruption was ongoing; however, we instead witnessed corrupt individuals being released under “Discharge Not Amounting to Acquittal” (DNAA), thus administering in the government.
History is an unyielding teacher; it intricately chronicles the events of the past, revealing truths that shape our understanding of the present.
By delving into history, we gain invaluable wisdom and encounter cautionary tales that urge us to avoid repeating the mistakes of those who came before us.
Although challenges may arise, our hopes remain alive and vibrant, for democracy offers a vital opportunity every five years to choose capable leaders who can guide our state government towards a brighter future.
