KOTA KINABALU: Former Governor of Sabah, Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah, has passed away at the age of 78.
The Sabah State Secretary, Datuk Seri Safar Untong, in a statement, said that the deceased passed away at 8:45 PM on Tuesday.
The deceased passed away at KPJ Hospital in Kota Kinabalu surrounded by family members.
He said the state government announced an official mourning period of one (1) day, and the flag of the state of Sabah would be flown at half-mast during that period.
Ahmadshah was the ninth Yang Dipertua Negeri and served from January 1, 1995, to December 31, 2002.
