TAMBUNAN: In the ever-evolving political landscape, one constant remains – the need for fresh, transparent leaders who genuinely connect with the people.
The political history of Tambunan reveals that the citizens seek a strong, courageous voice that resonates with contemporary issues.
Therefore, it is time for Dato Victor P. Paut to be given the opportunity to lead the Tambunan area, continuing the reformist spirit once championed by Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan (DDJK).
During the 15th State Election (PRN 15), DDJK boldly addressed critical issues that concerned the public at that time.
He focused on three main issues that shook the stronghold of PBS in Tambunan:
Tan Sri Pairin Kitingan is no longer suitable to hold the positions of ADUN and MP due to age and health considerations. The public is urged to select a leader who is energetic, active, and capable of engaging with the community at all times.
Leadership issues within PBS, including a culture of cronyism and pervasive moral problems, have led to a loss of public trust in the current leadership.
Tan Sri Pairin’s failure to implement internal reforms has resulted in an inability to cleanse the party from within.
Consequently, DDJK has called on the public to express their dissent by completely rejecting PBS at the ballot box.
As a result, the people granted a mandate to DDJK, initiating a wave of change.
However, during the 16th state election, the focus shifted to national issues, particularly the massive 1MDB scandal involving Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Barisan Nasional (BN).
The public became increasingly aware that they could no longer support a leadership tainted by abuse of power and corruption.
In this context, DDJK emerged as the only credible candidate, with no other contender able to match his track record at that time.
Today, we find ourselves in a new phase. While the previous leaders have made significant contributions, the times have changed.
The younger generation seeks representatives who are more active, energetic, and connected to the community.
Thus, the emergence of Dato Victor as a progressive, professional, and capable young candidate should be viewed as a continuation of the reforms initiated by DDJK.
With his leadership experience, strong grassroots connections, and a clean image free from integrity issues, Dato Victor stands out as the ideal candidate to elevate Tambunan to new heights.
He not only brings a fresh spirit but also introduces innovative ideas that align with the needs of the current generation.
Tambunan must move forward, and for that, young leaders like Dato Victor deserve the opportunity.
