SANDAKAN: Libaran UMNO is committed to contesting all three Barisan Nasional (BN) seats in the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN17) for the state seats (DUN) within the Libaran parliamentary area.
Libaran UMNO chief Datuk Suhaimi Haji Nasir stated that BN is determined to secure all three DUN seats.
Suhaimi, who is also the Sabah UMNO Information chief and the Member of Parliament for Libaran, said that the party has not yet finalised its candidates for the BN in the 17th State Election, emphasising that BN will not operate independently in this election.
“Whether we collaborate with other parties or make any other decisions later, we will firmly defend these three seats as they are traditional BN/UMNO seats in the Libaran parliamentary constituency.
“According to sources from the decisions made by Sabah UMNO, we are neither closing the door nor fully opening it regarding potential collaborations with other parties,” he added.
Consequently, Suhaimi affirmed that UMNO and BN in the Libaran area will continue to uphold all three traditional UMNO/BN seats in the upcoming PRN17.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media during an event with the leadership of UMNO Libaran at Aisyadelia Cottage, Batu 14, Sandakan, recently.
Also present were Datuk Mokran Ingkat, the Sungai Manila assemblyman cum deputy chief of Libaran UMNO.
