KTC plans to acquire land in KKIP to establish its largest hub in Borneo

KENINGAU: Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC) is planning to acquire a 15-acre site in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) to create the largest KTC Hub in Borneo.

In announcing the initiative, KTC Executive Director Datuk Dexter Lau said this development will mark the first local company in Sabah to establish warehousing and manufacturing facilities in KKIP.

He said it will serve as a central hub to connect Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and Indonesia, thus enhancing Sabah’s economy.

Dexter said this during the iftar gathering, held at the Keningau Sports Complex, near here on Thursday.

Founded in 1938, KTC has evolved into a robust company that has successfully operated for 89 years, spanning three generations of the Lau family from Sabah.

Under the leadership of Datuk Dexter Lau as executive director, KTC was listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2015, marking a historic milestone as the first FMCG company from Sabah to be publicly listed.

Today, KTC owns 13 subsidiaries and 19 branches that cover the jurisdiction of Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei.
