Datuk Dexter displays glimpses of compassionate leadership through KTC’s food donation efforts for orphans in Ranau

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Dexter Lau, the Executive Director of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC), was visibly moved while delivering food donations to the Orphanage and Asnaf Home in Kampung Silad, Ranau, today.

He shared his aspirations for the children, wishing for them to have promising futures and to develop into resilient individuals who will eventually contribute positively to their community.

Accompanying him was the Women’s Movement of PGRS Paginatan, led by Datuk Amisah Yassin, who procured essential items from a local supermarket in Ranau before presenting KTC’s sponsored donations to the orphanage and asnaf home.

Earlier, KTC, in partnership with the Sabah Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM), hosted the Shopping Raya Program as part of the Iftar Tour 2025, with Ranau marking the 11th location of the event.

Fifty children from Ranau were given the opportunity to shop for festive clothing in town in anticipation of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Each child received RM200 to purchase new clothes and shoes for the celebration.

Datuk Amisah, the appointed assemblyman, expressed her appreciation to UPPM and KTC for their kindness in enabling these children to acquire festive attire and support those in need.

She hopes this initiative brings happiness to the children as they celebrate Hari Raya.

She envisions that this initiative will spread happiness among the children during their Hari Raya celebrations.

Datuk Amisah emphasised the importance of charitable programmes like this, highlighting their significant benefits and advocating for their continuation in the years ahead.

In attendance were Datuk Awang Kadin, Director of UPPM Sabah; Datuk Redonah Bahanda, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister; Datuk Aziah Atoh; local leaders; representatives from KTC; and officials from UPPM.
