KOTA KINABALU: The Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) suffered a significant setback after their party president, Datuk Peter Anthony, was found guilty of forgery related to UMS maintenance committed 11 years ago (2014).
It was noted that KDM Sabah was split from Warisan, which was led by Datuk Peter Anthony and Juil Nuatim. The party was registered on February 18, 2022.
It is important to acknowledge that Datuk Peter Anthony’s crime does not seem to be directly connected to the KDM Party, and this distinction can offer some clarity in a challenging situation.
So what’s next for KDM? In this holy month of Ramadan and Lent, it is time for reflection, prayers, and almsgiving.
Their supporters need to move forward and endure the future together.
The KDM party is in good hands under the tutelage of the Bahanda brothers.
They are organised with a sharp focus in hand. They need to work to maintain their president’s seat at DUN 35 Melalap.
It may be beneficial for Datuk Peter Anthony to consider taking a brief sabbatical to reflect on his past actions after serving his prison sentences.
If approached correctly, this time of reflection could help revive his political career in Sabah.
Honesty is essential in this process, as it is a rare attribute that can lead to positive outcomes.
