KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee has reported that the total number of flood victims in the state has increased to 989 individuals from 305 families as of 8 a.m., up from 721 individuals from 212 families reported on Saturday night.
According to the statement, the Membakut district, which was first affected by the flood on Saturday afternoon, currently houses 160 victims from 53 families in a Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS).
Additionally, 538 individuals (177 families) are sheltered in three PPS in Beaufort, 278 individuals (71 families) in two PPS in the Kinabatangan district, and 13 individuals from four families in one PPS in Tambunan.
The trend of evacuations in Beaufort is on the rise, while the numbers in Membakut, Tambunan, and Kinabatangan remain stable, as stated in the report.
